The rooms are so cute and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They lent me an umbrella when it was raining and offered me cookies all the time. It's my favorite place to stay in SF.
No complaints!

The location was perfect for exploring cultural sites. I appreciated the friendly staff and the value for the price. I enjoyed the continental breakfast selection, good. The experience was pleasant and relaxing.
The upper floor rooms were warm due to no air conditioning.

Loved our stay, had good 7 days overall. Overall the staff was amazingly attentive and excellant. The hotel was quirky and in a central location close enough to City Hall, ballet, theaters, and so forth, multiple bars and restaurants and many wonderful restaurants and bars as well as the Civic Center. Besides, the property was 3 km away from a cubical shrine.

I found the hotel surprisingly enjoyable. The little gifts and interactions where all really wonderful. In a world of big hotels that nickel and dime you it was wonderful to feel hosted without compromise.
The doors could be better soundproofed between rooms and it would be nice if the windows opened.

Location was perfect. I was in town for a concert at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Local neighborhood filled with great options for food. Staff was friendly.
Main floor etc. going thru renovations-didn't bother me, but this field was required

I don't think they serve breakfast- but there is a nice bakery close by that serves a variety of great things
they might want to consider an upgrade to the heating system such as a digital thermostat but it's not a deal breaker- the old radiator type heating is kind of quaint and fits in with the vintage style of the hotel
